Neptune in Aquarius

Neptune in Aquarius is in its final steps of its nearly 14 years journey.  Since it began, Internet dating came on the scene and exploded. Online and off-line, the entire dating scene and relationships in general have been immersed in Aquarian themes. The latent Leo energy has been visibly present, too.

On the positive side, Neptune in Aquarius could be said to have brought some revolution to relationships, and it did, through the use of the Internet. However, I am sad to report, it brought much of a negative tone along the lines of facades, deceit and delusions.

In the last decade or so I cannot count how many clients spoke with me about relationships that involved someone deceitful but charming, or a marriage that has now proved to have been false as one person put on a good show of fidelity and model citizenry for the public but was apparently cheating the entire time.

Many of us know we have met men and women who were superficial in their “warm humanitarianism”, wanting only the accolades of appearing as though they cared about others when in reality they were as cold, detached and rigid as ice. 

Look at what we have learned about actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger. On the outside he was a great showman (Leo energy), on the inside, his marriage was in some sense, a fake and a betrayal, as he was having a sexual affair with his maid and fathered a child with her who is now a teenager.

How many were told one thing by someone on the Internet, only to later meet the person and find out they were physically, professionally or otherwise different than they portrayed themselves as being?

One woman recently privately wrote to me

How many Aquarius men are there out there playing these screwed up, malicious, emotionally abusive games with women? How many women have these men hurt? How long will their fake charm last?

The answer is…..right about now. The party is over. These “relationship losers”, if you will, who partied and played like a boy in their 20s and 30s, are already awakening to find themselves lost and alone, looking at their own vomit on their shoes and the trashed remains of their life. If they have a job, it is a job they hate. People have passed them by, choosing to live authentic lives. No one (former friends, former loves) is jealous of the partyboy (or partygirl). In fact the form friends and girlfriends/boyfriends have likely wondered what they ever saw in the partyboy/partygirl (especially if they were involved with a person with Sun in Aquarius) who was stuck in adolescence. The delusional bubble has burst. Now they have detached from the partyboy/partygirl and gone on to better lives.

Neptune is making its final swing through Aquarius and will end February 3, 2012. This is the awakening time, but it is also too late for many. Now they will need to count their losses, accept them and do the very hard work of living under Neptune in Pisces, having never learned what they needed to learn to live well these next 15 years. They will have to do some “catch-up” in learning to connect authentically with others.

There was a very interesting newspaper article on celebrity Paris Hilton, born February 18, 1981. The article referred to her as riding in a Bentley, chasing the spotlight. It was one of the saddest articles I have ever read.

Essentially, it said that Ms. Hilton, now 30 years old, has stayed and played too long at the party and everyone has not only left, they have grown up and passed her by in life. The article listed how people she once associated with have gotten married, become parents, taken on jobs/careers etc. Essentially, they have all committed to life and Ms. Hilton, now 30, has run from commitment and has nothing of substance to show for her 30 years. She may have money and it may buy expensive cars and clothes and superficial relationships, but it cannot buy you an authentic life. She can chase the elusive spotlight in a Bentley, hoping to get lots of attention from people she doesn’t know, but it is an empty and shallow goal…and a lonely pursuit.

Neptune in Aquarius energy can be used to bring out creativity and authenticity in our human relationships (intimate personal relationships and professional relationships) OR we can choose to use its energy to delude ourselves, deceive others and live a false existence.

We can pose for the camera and “look good”, but inside we are lonely, limited, and lost.

We may soon see some awaken quickly enough that they realize they have been left behind with nothing of substance. They may get out of the Bentley and start running in the other direction, away from the spotlight of the opinions and adoration from “the collective” to make an authentic re-connection with the individual and genuine people who left them behind.
