Welcome to 2016!
Today is the first official work day of the year 2016. It is a time when most people are returning to their daily routine, even though the 12 days of Christmastide are not quite finished (Christmastide is 12 days, 25 December through 5 January) in the Christian liturgical calendar.
In Tarot, today kicks off a week ruled by the Moon trump in the Major Arcana. The Moon card represents the Moon in Scorpio, which we are experiencing today. The Moon in Scorpio can be felt as delving into the dark knowledge of the depths of the soul, deep intuition, intensity and high stress.
The Moon in Scorpio is the Moon in the sign of its fall, meaning it is very weak. However there is a lot of support for this Moon this week because of other placements:
We have a trine aspect with Neptune in Pisces, a sextile aspect with the Sun and Pluto in Capricorn, and a sextile aspect with expansive, abundant Jupiter in Virgo. The Moon in Scorpio can be a harsh placement but with this type of energy circulating in our universe, there is a lot of positive to come from it.
If there is something challenging or difficult with which you must contend, do not put it off. Deal with it now under this energy and you will be able to get to the heart of the matter in every way and come to a good practical solution ot two. In fact, you could end up feeling quite happy with the results. Hard work today and tomorrow mean satisfaction and progress by the end of the week.
Use your intuition to (Moon/Neptune) and count to 10 before responding so you can maintain a stable mood (Sun/Pluto/Moon)
Avoid letting others rile you up today and tomorrow (and they WILL be trying to do that). Stay steady and stable in your mood. Count to not only 10 but 30 and remember you can always quickly excuse yourself and walk away rather than react or respond before responding.
When someone is trying to intentionally irritate me or anger me (and I trust my intuition to tell me that), I often quickly cut them off with a smile and say “hold that thought, I’ll be back!” and then quickly walk away and out of the room or over to another conversation. I get back to them some time later.
It is an effective strategy.
We have Mercury retrograde starting tomorrow and taking us through January 26.
Today is also good for sitting in silence with yourself and reflecting on your life situations. It is also a good time to call and ask questions about what is lurking in your heart.
I am taking calls on my schedule, which you will find via my homepage. If you need an appointment outside those times, please email me.
May you thrive under this serious moonlight!
Blessing be upon you
