Uranus Retrograde 2016

Uranus Retrograde 2016

Uranus is retrograde in 2016 from July 29 – December 29. When Uranus is retrograde it is time to make changes because you feel the changes happening inside of you. While it is retrograde the changes are INTERNAL, not external. When it stations direct, you can then make the external changes.

Uranus Retrograde 2016: Active Waiting

Aries is a pioneering cardinal sign that loves activity. Uranus is also an active planet with electric energy. You will naturally feel the need to be active in making some changes, You may not be able to make all the changes, as I noted, until the planet is direct, but you will be aware of what is no longer serving you and what is not working well. It is like knowing you must take a test on a certain date and there are months to pass before that date arrives. So you study hard, read material, consult with others who can assist you in passing the exam well and you arrive on test day prepared and ready to get on with it.

Retrograde Effects

Check your personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars) between 14° Aries and 4° Taurus. It will strongly affect you if you have any of these placements.  Generally, many will be more pessimistic and feel a need for more freedom as Uranus retrogrades. Why does this happen? When a planet is retrograde its energies are bottled up and you become more aware of the need to release them, to have change. In this case it will be about freedom, the internet, humanitarian issues. Only when the planet stations direct are you able to release the energies and DO SOMETHING to bring about the change you desire and move forth. With Uranus, this retrograde is about awakening to the inevitable conclusion due to shocking and sometimes unexpected realization about what is really happening in our lives.

The Seven Year Cycle

Uranus takes seven years to cycle through a sign. We have been dealing with Uranus in Aries since May 27, 2010 when, Uranus left Pisces and entered Aries, a sign it last transited in 1935 (the rise of Hitler, WWII) with the initial ingress in 1927 (The Great Depression). This time Uranus arrived just after The Great Recession hit. It was retrograde for a few months and returned briefly to Pisces until March 11, 2011, when it re-entered Aries. It will remain steadily in Aries until May 15, 2018. Uranus then briefly ingresses Taurus to give a taste of what it will be like (heed the warning and make the changes it demands then so you will have an easier time of it), retrogrades and returns to Aries on November 6, 2018 until March 6, 2019.

Uranus in Aries

Uranus is the awakener, the mover and shaker of the zodiac. His goal is change/improvement for the masses at any cost, even at the cost of chaos or a revolution. Uranus represents humanitarianism, unconventionality, unpredictability, indifference, freedom, technological advancements, and loyalty to its cause. Uranus’ energy is radical, disruptive, rebellious and innovative. Aries is the trailblazer of the zodiac. Aries energy is bold, individualistic, independent, enterprising and can be impulsive, pushy, abrasive, and bossy. It’s an impatient energy that needs to constantly be in a dynamic state – gotta be moving, gotta be doing, gotta be making things happen. Aries represents the self, the ego, our volition, our potential.

Uranus in Aries is an approximately 7-year period in which we are called to assert ourselves, and find our independence. We may be called to break free of restrictive relationships and situations. We must stop being dependent and learn to gain our independence so we can have interdependent relationships and situations. We are called to acknowledge we are strong, individual, self-reliant and self-motivated. Sometimes in order to make such changes there are shocks, surprises and violence. Sometimes it is even bloody. However, such may be what is needed to make change happen.

Uranus/Pluto Square

From 2012 – 2015 we had a rough struggle with Uranus in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn.  These two cardinal planets went toe to toe and that meant Big  Business got slammed by revolution from below, from The People. Prior to that we had, off and on, the  Cardinal T-Square of Uranus in Aries, Saturn in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn from 2009 – 2012. Saturn told us to get real and Pluto empowered those who wanted a change in the way business has controlled people’s lives. Out of this something new is birthing and we will see the final result, of course, in 2019.

Active Responses to Uranus

So how do you handle Uranian energy? How do you handle Uranian energy with a full-on Aries flavor? This is hot raw, insticintive, survivalist passionate driven, explosive energy. Use it during the retrograde the self and its raw, passionate, instinctive drives to be the main motivator in formulating goals and getting them accomplished. Remember that Uranus governs the unexpected so, be flexible enough to expect the unexpected – find opportunities in the least likely places or connections; formulate unique solutions to common or existing problems; tweak an old method and make it more effective; break away from boundaries and think outside the box.

Rebel Uranus transits the pioneering sign of Aries from 2010 to 2019. As I noted earlier there is clear connection between the crash of Wall Street in 1929, the Great Depression and WWII and now The crash of Wall Street in 2008 and the Great Recession of 2008 and the warring around the world.

Prepare For Change

We must prepare ourselves for change. Nothing is a given anymore. Those who will fare the best will be those  FLEXIBLE enough to change and adjust to that change quickly. It doe snot matter the country or city. Make the change out of loyalty to self —

  • reinvent yourself (opull a Madona!!)
  • revamp your career,
  • renovate your home even by making some new innovations,
  • reconnect with your family,
  • revitalize your community.

Those who will be hurting and suffering will be those who are stuck in addictions and dependencies (be they relationships, situations or places) and refusing to separate and change. Until they see that life is an adventure and embrace a new style of living and being. they will be blocked. Their worlds will crumble and dissolve.

Thiose who will see great sucess under Uranus i Aries, especially when it statins direct, are those who do not try to urn down the house but rather roll with teh change and keep their voices heard. That means you can still be “in your face” but yo use diplomacy to reach a point and stay there, effect change and move to the next point.

Your Personal Uranus Experience

Who will Uranus retrograde in Aries affect? All of us, but some more specifically than others: those with cardinal Sun signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn); those with natal Uranus in Cancer (born approximately 1949 to 1956) or in Libra (born approximately 1968 to 1975) or in Capricorn (born approximately 1988 to 1996); and those with Chiron in Aries (born approximately 1969 to 1977) may feel the effects more strongly than others.

I will be experiencing it primarily in my 9th house of foreign language and languages, higher education, humanitarian issues,  justice and the law, philosophy, For me, as a person with Sun in Virgo, Uranus’ transit in Aries falls in my solar 9th house of professional pursuits and personal goals. As a woman with a Leo Ascendant, Uranus will continue transiting through my natal 9th house before explosively electrifying my MC (a major life occurrence because the MC is a chart angle) and ingresses my 10th house of career and reputation. In addition, transiting Uranus in Aries  will oppose Jupiter in Libra  for a year from October 2016 – October 2017.  My professional life, my writing, my public persona and my home life  will under change whether I am ready or not. So , I intend to be ready to accept any and all changes to make it easier on myself. When there is a change, my response inside and out will be IT’S ALL GOOD!  The blessing will come after that when Uranus ingresses Taurus and I will be rewarded as I experience a sweet Uranus transit aspect that will make ALL the changes worth the challenges. I will keep you posted.
